The 8th Annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival will kick off at 6pm on Friday October 11th with a Pub Crawl along Old San Carlos Boulevard and surrounding areas. The bands of roving pirates will be accompanied from pub to pub by Daniel O’Ryan and the Craic show, where songs will be sung and ale will be drunk! The opening cannon will sing at 10am both Saturday October 12th and Sunday October 13th followed immediately by the Pirate’s Parade down Old San Carlos Boulevard. The parade will continue into Times Square and back down the boulevard, where the stage will be set for a fun, family friendly Pirate Festival! There will be lots of activities for the wee ones, including a children’s fishing tournament, stage shows, a treasure hunt, and face painting. There will be plenty of period vendors on hand to supply the aspiring pirate with garb and swag, so come out and get dressed, or add that piece you have always wanted to your costume. All the restaurants and bars along the street will be serving plenty of food and drink, and will be open late! The highlight of the day will be an epic ship to shore sea battle with blazing cannons, plundering pirates and sailing ships. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the biggest, most spectacular sea battle on the water! The entertainment continues all day and will culminate in a closing drum circle by the water at 5pm, immediately following closing cannons. There will be a Pirates’ Ball on Saturday night with costume contests and food and drink, so be there to enjoy the fun all weekend long with the favorite Pirate Crews you have known and loved since the show started eight years ago
